Psittacula mutations

Genetic testing for colour mutations in Alexandrine (Psittacula eupatria) and Indian ring-neck (Psittacula krameri) parrots. This assay enables the identification of specific colour mutations, allowing determination of both carrier status and early genotyping in chicks prior to full phenotypic expression.

We accept feather samples or blood samples preserved in 96% ethanol for analysis. The test detects the presence or absence of the selected colour mutation, supporting informed breeding and genetic management decisions.
