DNA profile in parrots

DNA profiling of parrots enables accurate determination of kinship relationships, including parent–offspring pairs and trios. This service supports reliable pedigree verification and genetic record-keeping for breeding programmes.

We offer testing for Psittacus spp., Ara spp., and Amazona spp., but please inquire as other species might also be considered.

Accepted samples include feather follicles (growing feathers with intact calamus and tissue) or blood samples preserved in 96% ethanol.
